Radiation therapists use machines to administer radiation treatment to patients with cancer. They use an X-ray imaging machine or computerized tomography (CT scan), to pinpoint the location of the tumor. The therapist adjusts the machine, called a linear accelerator, to target radiation exposure on the tumor cells. Radiation therapists develop treatment plans in conjunction with other specialists and answer patient questions.
