Job description:

Personal and home care aides assist elderly or disabled adults with daily living activities at home or daytime care facilities. Their duties may include making beds, doing laundry, and preparing and providing meals. Personal and home care aides may advise families, the elderly and disabled on such things as nutrition, cleanliness and household utilities.

Work environment:

Personal and home care aides work in daytime care facilities or in patients' homes, often working alone or with periodic visits from a supervisor.

Training requirements:

Personal and home care aides receive on-the-job training from employers.
