Job description:

A nursing aide, nursing attendant or orderly performs indirect care and routine tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. They may escort patients to operating and examining rooms, keep patients’ rooms neat, set up equipment, store and move supplies, and assist with some procedures. A nursing aide, nursing attendant or orderly also observes patients’ physical, mental and emotional conditions and reports any changes to the nursing or medical staff.

Work environment:

A nursing aide, nursing attendant or orderly works in hospitals or nursing care facilities.

Training requirements:
