Job description:

A medical secretary assists with the day-to-day management of medical offices. They schedule appointments, provide training and orientation for new staff, and operate and troubleshoot new office technologies. The core responsibilities of a medical secretary include health administration tasks such as ordering supplies, preparing letters and arranging for laboratory procedures. A medical secretary coordinates an office’s administrative activities and may help physicians with reports or simple medical histories.

Work environment:

A medical secretary may work in a medical office, hospital or other health care setting.
