$39,666 – $73,466

Job description:

Orthotists and prosthetists design and assist patients with orthopedic and prosthetic devices, like braces or artificial limbs. They create devices according to a physician's prescription and fit patients for the devices to ensure function and comfort. They also repair orthopedic and prosthetic devices and maintain patient records.

Work environment:

Orthotists and prosthetists work in a variety of health care settings, including private offices, hospitals, clinics or rehabilitation facilities.

Training requirements:

Orthotists and prosthetists are required to earn a bachelor's degree. They are certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics.
