Job description:
A cardiovascular technologist or cardiovascular technician assists physicians in diagnosing and treating heart or blood vessel ailments. They conduct tests on pulmonary or cardiovascular systems of patients for diagnostic purposes. A cardiovascular technologist or cardiovascular technician may conduct or assist with electrocardiograms (EKGs), cardiac catheterizations, and pulmonary-function or lung-capacity tests.
Work environment:
A cardiovascular technologist or cardiovascular technician works in physicians' offices and hospitals.
Training requirements:
A cardiovascular technologist or cardiovascular technician is required to earn an associate's degree.
